Hello Land Rover Enthusiasts!
I´m new here and from April this year a proud owner of a 1969 Series IIa Station Wagon with an 2,3l Indenor Turbodiesel.
Sadly the Landy currently isnt running because of gearbox damage
After the gearbox repair I will have certainly some questions about the engine!
Regards from southwest Germany!
Gerd

Re: Newbie!
Hello Gerd
Welcome on Le Temps des Series' forum
You are so lucky to run such a car
Is it a short or long body ?
Indenor XD2 S is a very nice engine with torque enough and enough power for an old car as Serie II A, and very reliable. (Mine has more than 300 000 km)
There is a German web site for Indenor engines : http://www.indenor-retro.de/start.html
So, if you have any questions just ask !

Re: Newbie!
Many thanks for your welcome!
I know the German Indenor retro website.
My problem is the strange oil consumption of the engine
I assume the amount ca. 3-5 litres for 1000km
Blue smoke is nowhere to see, the leakeage is nothing much.
Probably the turbo charger could be the root.
But as I said before, at first the gearbox!

Re: Newbie!
.....puhhh finally the replacement gearbox is implemented and...... it works
The 2nd gear isn`t synchronised (because of older gearbox type) but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
The next construction area will be the massive oil consumption (3 to 5 L/1000km) of the engine (2,3 L Indenor Turbodiesel).
I assume in the turbo charger is the root.
The waste gas smells permanently and intensive of burned motor oil.
There`s no leakeage or blue smoke while driving.
Is there anyone out there with similar experiences????

Re: Newbie!
Hi Gerd
There is another way : may be some leaks on the oil return circuit of the turbo (from the turbo to the crankcase).
But may be you have to rebuilt the turbo : it's not so difficult and cost around 150£ (http://www.turbo-shop.com/). Mine is a Air research and I rebuilt it 7 years ago. After 90000 km it still runs fine !
Good luck
Bruno
