Hi all.

I am trying to register my 1971 Series III that I brought over from the UK and have just been informed by Land Rover France that "I want you to know that the designation Series III has never been used in France for the approval of Land Rover vehicles. Indeed between 1970 and 1977 all Land Rover 88 inch were registered in France under the type "series IIA,"

Really? So what do I register my Series III as?

A Series III with a partial certificate of conformity or a Series IIA???

Confused! Bil.

Type = LBCAH (1982), c'est la section du VIN; nom commercial = 109;

Ce qui compte c'est le numéro de serie, "series 1, 2, 3" sont des noms commerciaux.

Good Afternoon Confused Series Owner,

Sorry for my English - I'm Dutch. :wow:

France, although a beautiful country, is not the easiest for registering older Land Rovers.

I have a SWB Series IIB sitting outside that you & me would call a IIA - but not the French...

Anyway, ask the nice people of LR France to issue a COC / PCOC and get the logbook stating it to be a Series II / IIA / IIB or whatever they think it is. Make sure you have a hi res. copy off all paperwork before going to try and get the French Carte Gris as they tend to loose bits now and then.

I have another Series sitting outside that bacame '62 in the confusing while it was a '63.

Can't be bothered to change it.

Good Luck !!

Arjan

Yay!

Belated thanks to all who replied. We are now the proud owners of a French registered Land Rover.
