Green Lanes in France

Message par Invité »

Hi I am currently in France for a few days with ny 1964 SIIa, below:

I know I should have found this out before I came, but green laning was not my primary reason for being here:

What are the rules for driving green lanes in France?
How do I recognise then on maps?
What are the best maps to buy in France for this purpose?

I am currently in the North of the country just west of Paris.

I thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.

Hi where are you west of Paris exactly ?? To bad I'm not here this week end but don't the green lane with a white sign circled with red, it means vehicles forbidden... And the one with a car and motorcycle with a red line on it....

Other than that if you see people on the green line just slow down and say hi driving by....

that's it I would say...

Bye bye on the road

cheers

Hi Phil,

when do you come back in France ( west of Paris ) with your lovely SIIA ?

as Rattledude says, we're very pleased to met you and have green laning with you...

on the other hand,
you can have a look at IGN, very near the Champs Elysées in Paris
many informations are on their websiste :

http://www.ign.fr/rubrique.asp?rbr_id=1&lng_id=EN

you can buy some especially the 25.000ème size, the top to do green laning...

:hello:

Will be back in france before too long.

Bought some IGN maps and sussed it out (to a point). Many lanes marked in the forests round here but so many closed or blocked - had a good couple of days out though.

Will probably pop over to the north soon. Is the Somme valley any good? I think i've hedqrd it might be.

If anyone wants to come over to England I will gladly escort you round some of our fantastic lanes.

Here are one or two in my home area, the peak district, to get you interested:
