Are there parts suppliers that might/will have the original Lucus head lamp glass?
Ive been thinking of fitting the Series 2 steering box to use the original wheel. Is it a good idea?
Will i find the parts?
Dose anyone else hear use their series almost daily? The soft top makes mine fun almost all year, though this year there was so much rain she spent more time in the garage than any winter before.

Hi there,
What is this lucus head lamp glass ?? Is it the seamed model ??
I don't anderstand the link between a steering box and original wheel. Could you explain ?
A soft top shouldn't be rainproof ?

The lamps are the type fitted when she was new.Since then ive fitted French made lamps to please the French MOT station.
The origanal steering wheel dose not fit the S3 replacement. Wheel & box have to be changed.
The soft top IS waterproof & in good condition(As she was in a garage).Even so, so much rain daily isnt good for it.Nor the expensive original windscreen wiper blades nor the now no longer available, motor

Worth trying Dunsfold Land Rover but the original fitment for a LHD may not have been Lucas.
The steering column would be easy enough to change, it will have been changed for ease of parts.
As for the motor and wiper blades there are plenty of every day users here in the UK who probably use them most days and have no problem.
I have always found on my '55 86" that they work much better when you are using them every day!

"The steering column would be easy enough to change, it will have been changed for ease of parts"
Looking at my workshop manual it says the steering column used with the S2 steering box will not fit the stronger S3 box & given as the reason box&column have to be changed.Which is why i cant use my S2 wheel.
Are you saying that in fact i could fit the S2 column into my S3 box?
This year ive had to use my wipers almost everyday so far

Will i be able to find or modify brushes if need be?Ive got a soft top as its quick and easy to adapt for warm sunny days
