Bonjour Mon Amis,
I have found your forum after Landyman's posting on the Series II Club Forum. It looks like you all had a good time in Bannegon - some good pictures.

I have a 1973 SIII 109' Station Wagon which I have owned for 3 years and use it everyday for an 11m (18km) journey. I am the 9th owner. It has overdrive and fwh and I have fitted a NATO hitch. It is the oldest vehicle in the carpark at work. I live in Guildford, Surrey which is about 10m from Dunsfold - handy for parts! Sometime I would like to take it abroad - I believe a previous owner took it to Denmark once.

I am a member of the Series II Club even thought I have a SIII. My SIII is an early one and has a few quirks - the exhaust is SII pattern as I found out when changing it! I post as The Colonel 109 on the Forum (and also on the LRe forum, and The Colonel on the LRUK ex LRM forum).

One question - how easy are LR parts to obtain in France - are they available locally or do you have to do mail order?

Au revoir,

Michael

Hello Colonel
About parts availability : i am far from any large city, so i always mail order, most of the time in england
Ten years ago, i was in a large city , and parts were quite easily available at the local Land rover reseller.
I think most of us order their parts from specialists, such as JCLAND,LANDSERVICE and so on, see "pages pros" on landmania.

At the moment, i have ordered twice from paddock in UK. I have not yet received the second order, but the first was OK.

Hello Francois,

Thank you for the reply. I too have used Paddocks for mail order and they have been good. Another good one is Dingocroft - http://www.dingocroft.co.uk - if they will mail order abroad. A shop close to me that I use for nuts & bolts etc is http://www.margnor.co.uk - they are very friendly and will sell one nut or bolt - no minimum quantity is needed, but I do not know if they do export mail order. They stock imperial sizes needed for LR's.

regards,

Michael
