hello,
My wife and I are serious Series Land Rover enthusiasts.

We have three of them:
- A 1952 Series One 80" called Myra,
- A heavily modified Lightweight called Butts,
- and another Lightweight called Tango which requires a full restoration.

Here is Myra in Wales enjoying some light laning with her friend Hazy

Hello Butts

Nice Serie one you have :super:

Do you come with them to Aigueblanche ?

I have a very good friend in Moutiers. Are you there in July or August ?

As wrote kebir, do you come at Bannegon on 19, 20 and 21 september ?

:hello:

Thanks for the welcome folks

No, thethe51  Myra is not and never will be for sale  She has had only two other owners and the descendants of her first have tried to buy her back. The first owner was Lord Howard of Glossop and the Estate wanted Myra to go back to her old job of Estate tractor  . We did not sell!
What I did not tell you in my last post is that Myra was damaged in a road accident at the end of last year. I've completed her restoration, but she has not travelled far since the rebuild. She was hit by a Suzuki 1000cc motorcycle travelling at 85MPH  A replacement chassis was required.

I'd love to come to Bannegon, Kebir31, but cannot this year because of other commitments, maybe next time.
No, BrunoP-G, unfortunatley we will not be in France in July or August. We were there until last week! Maybe we will meet on a future occassion when we are in France and you are visiting your friend in Moutiers? That would be good.

Thought you might like to see our other Land Rover. It is basically a Series 3 Lightweight, but very modified

I will practise my French when I make future posts!

Sorry, Molusk :confus: I'd no idea that coilers were that unpopular on this forum  It used to be a Series 2A Lightweight and was lefthand drive in it's original form. The chassis though was a wreck and as it is an off roader first and foremost, I decided heavy modification was OK. It also upsets the Military purists

I was lucky that Myra had survived very intact, although she has not had a quiet life. She spent a number of years as a trials motor. All things are possible in the world of restoration, but I don't believe in being a slave to originality. To keep an old motor alive is what is important. I'm sure yours is a fine motor.

Hello Archibal3. It is possible we will be at Harrogate on the 10th, but there is just so much going on at this time of year in the UK, that we might not make it. I do though expect Myra to make the LRO Show in Peterborough in September.

Hello, Butts.

I'll be at Peterborough, as I'm crossing the Channel and attending the show (1978 in the Anniversary line-up), before joining the convoy with my friends from OLLR (http://www.ollr.net), back to Bannegon.
Hope you can make it then, and welcome here.

Hello Drew 5292,

Yes, I know of the OLLR, Myra has been to one of their Shows- "Leafers at t'Pit" back in 2006.

When you're at Peterborough, look us up. We'll be on one of the Club Stands - "The Northernboghoppers". Hopefully Myra will be on the Club Stand so you should not miss us  It will be good to meet you.

You can view the Club Forum at http://www.northernboghoppers.com
