New Series2 on board

Hello everyone!
My name is Jörg, originally from Germany and currently living in the southern part of France. One of my colleagues showed me this site, and as soon as I feel more confident in WRITING French (I'm so happy I can SPEAK some 3 or plus words

) I will start participating in the non-anglais-area of this forum.
So here we are then: myself, "The Big One" Defender 100 Td5 SW and (this is why we are HERE)...
"Liesl", 1962 Series2 88 ST
I will see that I can add some more (and bigger) photos later...
Are there any meetings held in the southern part of France this summer? Or is someone doing "une petite randonnée" in the Pyrenees?
Best regards,
Jörg

Le tableau de bord, on dirait le jaune de l'Afrika Korps, un peu...

... mais c'est rien que de la basse jalousie, car elle a l'air superbe !

Hello all, and thanX for the warm welcome
@No.5: if you have some knobs for me, just tell me - but please not the plastic-ones from the Series3, no, the real ones in bakelite
@francol: actually I WAS thinking about adding some Afrika Korps markings on the doors...
hey, just kiddin'
@"Großer31": you find my departement in your nick
Too bad I missed Landmania, but maybe next year... I was told one would not find many Series there, that's true?
And what about this Bannegon meeting?
Best regards,
Jörg

hello Jörg
Welcome on our forum. It's a pleasure to see your Serie there : seems in very very good condition
If you wish to cross spanish Pyrenees from east to west coast, just go on vibraction web-site : they sell different Road-books. There is a lot of specific itineraries, and are very well documented and up to date...

god, what a nice SIIA !!! Is it a home made restoration ? What drived you to a SIIA and especially a such imaculate collection car ?
What are you aiming now you have it, ready to run as long as you want every where you want, exactly why it has been named "the most versatile car" !!

I don't see it as an immaculate one .. sorry but i'm the "nut and bolt " ayatollah haunting this website !
Your SMITH HEATER seems badly fixed and incomplete.
The vent knobs of the very first S2A are trully in bakelite, but the laters
one are looking strictly the same.
The front apron is missing and for that you have no excuses 'cause it's the same as the S3 models !
Anyway, if you are not afraid of the journey, BANNEGON seems to be a nice place to cheat-chat !

That seems to be a little bit harsh to a new arrival.
Perhaps you would care to show us photos of your landrover?
landschrabbler I think it's one of the best restorations I've seen in a while.
I suspect the heater is installed like that to give you a little more legroom?
Please post us more pictures!

Yes , you know i'm so harsh !
In fact, we have a saying : "who loves truly, punishes deeply" here , which means that this car is so close to be zero mistakes that i want to push him to go higher !
