Urgent translation help for reglazing strip please

Hi Serienistas,

have to reglaze very quick this week one side of my series windscreen with laminated glass. Therefore the Butyltape is perfect. But not enough time for ordering at John Craddock.
Must find the stuff here in Toulouse area....

How it´s called on french and where to get? Any ideas?

Why don't you use mastic product, like terroson?

Hi Christian,

mastics like Würth,Teroson or Normfest Scheibendicht is okay for the old safty glass which broke into 1000 chips..... very nice when driving with 70km/h and the glass bursts and all the pieces fly around your head, fortunately I wear sunglasses!!!!....Never again.... and the laminated glass is a bit stiffer and needs more surround. I did it only with mastics....not enough stuff around the glass. The side with the glazing strip first around the glass(like the window in the rear Defender door)and then sealed outside with black mastics/silikon works perfectly.

Hi Alex,

thats the old way i know, but

DumDum is not longer available. So the sealing strip in U-form around the glass-edge and then Silicone ou Sika....

Xtian recently renovated its with dumdum: ask him where did he find it. He may even have a rest ;)

Thanks everyone, got butyl tape from carglass Portet sur Garonne. Works very well, no problems.....
